We specialize in modern permanent makeup techniques that compliment your personal beauty and individuality, and achieve the most natural, multidimensional results with cosmetic tattooing: sheer Lip Blush or Full Lip Color
Lip Blushing is a gentle tattoo procedure that uses soft blush tones to help evenly saturate and elevate your natural lip color. Choose from sheer Lip Blush or Full Lip Color. This procedure is perfect for pale or aging lips, improves symmetry, and gives the appearance of fuller lips without the use of injections. This delicate enhancement is customized according to client lip color, undertones, and facial features.
Every appointment at Victory Ink begins with a thorough consultation when you arrive. This is a very personal service, so we take time to listen to your preferences and to thoroughly evaluate your skin and history to determine which brow technique is most appropriate for you. Our goal is a beautiful, long term result. At Victory, you are part of the entire process. We are a team!
Lip Blush is a 2 step process: the initial appointment and a retouch appointment 2-3 months later. The retouch visit is not optional; this important step completes, enhances, and prolongs your results. To best plan for your appointments, please read the following service details thoroughly. For our beautiful clients with melanin-rich or dark lips, advanced neutralization is preferred so A CONSULTATION IS REQUIRED prior to booking. Please book a NEW SERVICE CONSULTATION first - we can do this in person or by video call.
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT?
- Lip blushing is not recommended for those with fragile skin, deep lip lines, or gingivitis. Permanent Makeup / Cosmetic Tattoos are not recommended for those undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or immunotherapy treatment, those on prednisone, steroids, or blood thinners, for women who are pregnant or nursing, or those with MRSA, blood borne or contagious illness, lupus, or who have a history of facial shingles. Tattoos should be avoided within 2 weeks of any vaccination or surgical procedure. (**Clients with anemia, diabetes, rosacea, psoriasis, or previous cancer history MUST bring a dr. note to the appt authorizing procedure.**)
- If you have EVER had a cold sore, ask your Dr for an antiviral prior to procedure to lessen your cold sore risk. You will need to repeat this regimen for your retouch.
- Lip Blush / Full Lip Color procedure is prohibited if nicotine or plant products have been smoked within the past year. PMU procedures are strictly prohibited if accutane/isotretinoin has been used within 1 year. We must also avoid doxycycline antibiotics or oral steroids within 3 months of service. Schedule facials 30 days before or 60 days after, and any Botox 30 days before or 2 weeks after. To avoid very serious complications, NO growth serums on lashes (including castor oil) for 90 days before your service, no exceptions. Please schedule accordingly.
- Please avoid the following for 30 days prior to AND after your appointment: direct sun or UV tanning, exfoliating acids (retinols, alpha-hydroxy acid, tretinoin or similar) above the cheekbones, no exceptions. This will have a direct impact on your comfort during the procedure and on results.
- For the week prior to your service, drink lots of water and EXFOLIATE. Make a gentle lip scrub with honey and brown sugar and exfoliate twice/day. Hydrate several times a day with Aquaphor. Avoid facial hair bleaching/waxing for 1 week prior to and 2 weeks after your appointment. Inform your artist if you wear removable partials or dentures.
- Please avoid alcohol the night prior to your appointment and avoid caffeine, smoking, alcohol, fish oil, NSAIDs (aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen and similar) for 24 HOURS before your appointment unless medically necessary. These directly impact your comfort during the procedure, retention and the quality of your healed result.
- PLEASE DO NOT WEAR MAKEUP TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. Please thoroughly cleanse your lips, cheeks, and chin to remove all makeup using a NON OIL-BASED cleanser before your appointment. Topical anesthetics are used during the procedure for your comfort.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT?
- Lips may feel slightly swollen for the first day; you may apply ice for short periods through a barrier cloth. Avoid spicy foods during the first 24 hours. Days 1-4 Your pigment will appear darker, like lipstick. This is a natural and TEMPORARY part of the pigment oxidization process. Days 5-14 The service area will flake a bit as your skin layers regenerate. Days 15-30 Your lip pigment will fade as the skin layers continue to heal. Pigment will reappear gradually from weeks 4-8.
- AVOID hot tubs, saunas, tanning, and heavy exercise. Moderate exercise is okay. Avoid anything abrasive (such as kissing), swimming and foreign fluids in or around the lips for 1 week. To preserve and protect your investment, always avoid using bleach, lasers and exfoliants on the treatment area, and WEAR SPF to avoid UV discoloration.
- While Permanent Makeup is a Cosmetic Tattoo process, pigment placement is shallower than a traditional body art tattoo and will heal differently. Best healed results vary by individual. Skin type, sensitivity, texture, scar tissue/sun damage, pH, metabolism, medical history etc. all play a role in your pigment retention. The better you care for your skin, the more beautiful and lasting your results will be. Permanent Makeup services are designed to soften and fade over time and will likely need a color boost around 18 months.
- If your lips are melanin-rich, your skin may also be prone to hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is the temporary darkening of the lip melanin for a few weeks. Please tell your artist if you experience hyperpigmentation so your retouch date can be adjusted to allow for extra healing time. Please note that lip neutralization clients often require 1-2 additional sessions to reach desired shift & saturation.
